What to expect.

A full session runs 100–130 minutes because men's hair is denser and areas are larger. Jas works through chest, abdomen, back, arms, legs, and face in zones, cooling between passes. Sharper sensation on dense/coarse areas (chest, back) — if you haven't had laser before, the first session is the most intense. Shave everything the day before; come with clean, product-free skin.

Results timeline.

First shed phase starts 7–14 days after session one and is often dramatic because men's hair is coarse and visible. Regrowth is patchy between sessions two and three; by session five most clients see 70–90% permanent reduction, with remaining hair finer and lighter. The x5 course at £1,700 is the single biggest time-saver most clients make — gone is the daily shave rotation across six different areas.

Session spacing:5–7 weeks

Questions, answered.

Does it hurt?

Full Body + Face feels like a warm rubber band flicking the skin — sharper than waxing for the first session because men's hair is denser and darker, so the laser draws more energy. By session two or three most clients find it easier as the hair thins and the device needs less power. Jas cools the skin in passes; you can pause any time. Most men describe it as 'manageable, not pleasant' — about the level of getting a tattoo in a forearm-sized patch.

Can I book if I've been in the sun or on a sunbed?

No — and this matters. Active tan (from sun, sunbed, or gradual self-tan) changes how the laser reads the skin and risks burns or pigmentation. You need four weeks clear of UV exposure and two weeks clear of fake tan before Full Body + Face. If you're booked and your skin has changed since the consultation, message Jas before the appointment — rescheduling costs nothing, a burn costs months of recovery.

How many sessions do I actually need, and why the x5 course?

Hair grows in three phases — only one (anagen) is laser-responsive. That's why single sessions thin rather than clear, and why 5–7 weeks between sessions matches the cycle for most skin types. The x5 course (£1,700) is priced for the number of sessions that gets Full Body + Face to near-permanent reduction for most clients. Men's hair is coarser and denser than women's, so men typically see more dramatic results from each session — but the same five-session structure applies. Single sessions (£400) work for testing how your skin responds before committing.

Are there medications that rule me out?

A short list. Roaccutane / isotretinoin requires a 6-month gap after your last dose. Certain antibiotics (tetracyclines) and photosensitising herbal supplements (St John's Wort) raise burn risk — pause for two weeks before a session, or reschedule. Blood thinners, hormone treatments (including testosterone replacement), and most prescription medications are fine; Jas will ask you through a short health form at the consultation. Bring your current medication list.

Will this give me a cleaner beard line and stop razor irritation?

Yes — that's the most common reason men book Full Body + Face. The laser permanently removes hair below your defined beard line, which means no more daily shaving of the neck and cheekbones, no more razor bumps, and no more ingrowns from coarse regrowth. Most men with sensitive skin or PFB (pseudofolliculitis barbae) see the benefit by session two or three. The line you set during the course is the line you keep — bring a photo of your preferred shape to the consultation so Jas can plan around it.

What about ingrown hairs on chest, back, or shoulders?

Laser hair removal is the most effective long-term solution for ingrown hairs. The mechanism: ingrowns happen when shaved or coarse hair curls back into the follicle as it regrows. Removing the follicle's ability to grow that hair removes the ingrown problem at source. Most men with chest or back ingrowns see meaningful improvement by session three; the x5 course at £1,700 typically resolves the problem permanently. Jas can also adjust settings to thin rather than clear if you want some chest hair to remain — your call.

I get razor bumps on my neck and cheekbones — will laser stop that?

Yes — laser is the most effective treatment for pseudofolliculitis barbae (PFB) and chronic razor bumps. The mechanism: removing the follicle's ability to grow hair removes the daily inflammation cycle that razor bumps depend on. Most clients with sensitive necks see clear improvement by session three; the x5 course at £1,700 typically resolves the problem permanently. Jas can discuss whether full clearance or selective thinning suits your beard goals best.
