What to expect.

Forty minutes of firm, focused work across the back, shoulders, and neck. Jas checks pressure in the first two minutes and adjusts — firmer, lighter, same. The work gets into knots you've been carrying for weeks; expect some 'good' soreness as she works through the tightest points. You'll leave feeling taller, looser, and usually with a couple of inches of range back in your shoulders.

Results timeline.

Immediate release in the treated areas; mild tenderness for 24–48 hours as deep tissue recovers. For chronic tension (desk work, training, postural patterns), every 2–3 weeks in the first month builds real change; every 4–6 weeks after that maintains it. Singles work for acute knots; patterns need sequence.

Session spacing:Every 2–3 weeks (resolving chronic tension), every 4–6 weeks (maintenance)

Questions, answered.

How firm is the pressure?

Deep Tissue Back Massage goes firm enough to work into knots but not so firm you're bracing through it. Jas checks in during the first few minutes and adjusts — 'firmer,' 'lighter,' or 'same' are the three answers you'll actually need. Deep tissue should feel assertive, not injurious; if it ever crosses into sharp pain, say so and it eases immediately.

Should I mention any medical conditions?

Yes — at booking or at the start of the session. Recent injuries, slipped discs, pregnancy, blood-thinning medication, untreated high blood pressure, or recent surgery all influence how Jas approaches the work. She's not going to interrogate you; a two-sentence overview is plenty. Some conditions mean modifying pressure or areas; a few mean postponing until cleared by your GP.

Which areas does Deep Tissue Back Massage focus on?

Full back, shoulders, neck, and lower back — the usual problem areas for anyone who sits at a desk or lifts kids or sleeps badly. If there's a specific knot or area of tension, tell Jas at the start and she'll spend proportionally more time there. The session goes where your body needs it, not a fixed choreography.

Can I combine this with a facial?

Yes — book them together and you save £5. Total time is around 100 minutes. Most clients find the massage relaxes them deeply enough that the facial afterwards feels like a luxury rather than another appointment. Alternative order (facial first) works equally well; Jas will ask your preference at booking.

How often should I book?

Depends what you're solving. For chronic tension (desk work, training load, postural issues), every 2–3 weeks in the first month, then every 4–6 weeks for maintenance. For a one-off reset (pre-travel, post-stressful period, generally overdue), book when you need it. Weekly massage makes sense during intense training blocks or recovery from a specific issue.

Is it safe in pregnancy?

Jas offers pregnancy-appropriate massage from the second trimester onwards — positioning changes (side-lying rather than face-down), pressure modifies, and certain areas are avoided. First-trimester massage is case-by-case; some clients are fine, some prefer to wait. If you have a high-risk pregnancy, get clearance from your midwife or GP first.

I bruise easily — is that a problem?

Flag it and Jas uses lighter sustained pressure rather than deeper focused work. Mild bruising on very sensitive skin is possible but uncommon — if it happens, it fades within 3–5 days and doesn't mean the massage was done wrong. Clients on blood thinners or with certain conditions (EDS, easy-bruising genetics) should mention it up front.
